Adding an icon
To add a program icon:
1. Make room for the icon by dragging the divider (vertical bar) a bit to the right.
2. Drag-and-drop the program icon from the desktop onto the Icon bar. 
An alternative approach is to right-click on the free space and choose Add->Button->Programs and then select the desired program.
Rearranging the icons
Simply move the mouse over an icon, then click and
hold the middle button of your mouse. Now drag the icon to whatever
position along the panel you want. You can also rearrange other things
on the panel like the clock and system tray by middle-clicking and
dragging the vertical bar just to the left of each item.
