OpenOffice.org


OpenOffice.org is a multi-platform office productivity suite. OpenOffice.org is an open source project, from which StarOffice is based. OpenOffice.org is available in over 45 languages, with more being added. OpenOffice.org runs natively on Solaris, Linux, Windows, Mac OS X (X11), and numerous other platforms. OpenOffice.org can be used to open, modify and save, most of the documents formats out there. Some of the files, it is compatible with include: .doc, .html, .txt, .stw, .vor. It is free of charge and Linspire includes version 1.1, by default. The Newest versions can be always be downloaded, from the website http://www.openoffice.org/.  Openoffice.org 2.0 is now available in the CNR warehouse.

If you are sending OpenOffice (OO) documents to a Windows user who does not have OO, beware because MS Office does not support open document formats currently (boooo!), please see these links for the simple workarounds:
