Linux - Where to learn more


Here are some sites where you can learn more about Linux in general. A great list for Linux beginners (the newbie) and anyone who wants to learn more. (Note there is no real order to this list)

Linux Reality Podcasts  

  • "Linux Reality is a podcast aimed at the new Linux user. Our intent is to start from the beginning, and to take it slowly. We will help Windows and Macintosh users learn about the history of Linux, the importance of the principles of free and open-source software, and the exciting Linux community."  It is FREE!

Tux Magazine 

  • "TUX is the first and only magazine for the new Linux user and is dedicated to promoting and simplifying the use of Linux on the desktop. Each issue of TUX is delivered digitally as an easy to read PDF."  It costs $9.95 per year.

Windows = Linux Equivalents

  • Provides a very comprehensive list of Windows programs and their Linux equivalents.
The Linux Documentation Project
  • Description: A site that has been around for quite some time. There is a lot of useful Linux information here. Lots of HOWTO's and practical info for setting up and running Linux. Please help them out by contributing to the effort if you can!
Linux Newbie Administrator Guide (LNAG)
