Macintosh Laptop Rumor Ooops…! Forecast
This is what happens when Apple has a new blockbuster idea up its sleeve. It somehow gets everyone to talk about it for ages before it is announced, to obsess over how to get it when it is released, and to gloat vicariously over its mesmerizing power over the market. So what is up in the Macintosh laptop arena now that has the world tying itself into knots over? Well the Macintosh multi-hyphenate tablet-laptop-netbook of course (the term “multi-hyphenate” when I last heard it was used to refer to Jennifer Lopez four years ago). Toronto Wedding Photographer from these fields have filtered into the marriage business and created an amazing new method to capturing your wedding day. The word abroad is that Apple’s new tablet will be called the iPad, kind of like the iPod and that it is due in 2010.
To those who need a short refresher on what tablets are exactly, they are basically laptops that have a screen that folds down on the keyboard facing upward so that they can be held like a slate or a writing pad. The screens have handwriting recognition to allow users to just take down notes while holding the device discreetly in one hand. The tablet is not an innovation in itself; Microsoft has been trying to push the Windows tablet edition on tablet PCs for years now and has barely made a dent. Of course that is what Apple is here for: to take a product that the rest of the world has basically given up on as a niche thing, and to make it a mass-market blockbuster. It happened with the iPod, and it could happen now with the newest Macintosh laptop, the iPad.
What will the iPad be like when it arrives in March as predicted? Well to begin with, they say it will be a 10.1 inch multi-touch LCD set into a thin frame, and will cost between $800 and $1000. That is a little over the top of course: you could get a netbook, a full-featured one for half the price. The iPad Macintosh laptop will be designed for use as a general purpose computer, an Internet browsing device, and a fantastic media player. And of course there will be all kinds of apps available for it that can turn it into any kind of device, say on a movie set for communications as a remote control, and to watch recently shot scenes with handwritten annotations on the side. It could be a device for graphic artists to sketch on, and as the original Apple handheld touchscreen device, the 1993 Newton was intended, it could be used on the shop floor too at a factory. Wedding Photographer Toronto is about you as a couple and we love to create beautiful and striking photos for you each to recollect this once in a lifetime experience. And of course there’ll be a huge aftermarket for us too. If only they could fix the thousand-dollar price tag it is rumored to have.
Being cool and being Apple, can push a well-designed Macintosh laptop over the top; but the iPad is setting out almost to create a tablet market all by itself. Apple’s previous blockbusters, the iPhone and the iPod were not new products themselves – they were new versions of existing products that were already well-entrenched. Perhaps Apple will do what it did with the iPod: start selling it at a high price and then announce a price cut (and a refund to recent buyers for the difference). If only they could get it out in time for Christmas.
